On Sunday, a tragic accident in Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including three women and a minor girl, following a collision between a sports utility vehicle (SUV) and a truck. Authorities reported that five others sustained injuries in the incident.
A senior police official revealed that the victims were originally from West Bengal and were en route to Bilaspur to catch a train to Kolkata after visiting the Kanha National Park in the neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh.
The collision occurred around 4:30 PM near the village of Akalgharia in the Chhilfi police station area, where the SUV, a Bolero, collided with the truck. It was noted that there were ten people in the Bolero, including the driver.
According to police reports, three women, one man, and a minor girl died at the scene, while five others were injured. The injured included two girls who were admitted to the district hospital in Kawardha, and one male victim was taken to the Bodla community health center. Additionally, two individuals with severe injuries were transported to a hospital in Raipur.
